The Shrine of our Lady of Charity, popularly known as the "Bantay" Church, is located in Bantay, Ilocos Sur. It has the Parish name of Saint Augustine of Hippo Parish Church, and is under the jurisdiction of the Vicariate of Saint Paul the Apostle of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia.
The Church houses the the miraculous image of Our Lady of Charity (Nuestra Señora de La Caridad), the patroness of Ilocandia.
How to go here using public transportation:
- If you are coming from Manila:
- Option 1: You may ride a Bus bound to Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. Ask the Driver to drop you off at Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. From there, you may ride a Tricycle or Calesa going to the Shrine of our Lady of Charity (Bantay Church). Travel Time is approximately 8 hours.
- Option 2: You may book a flight going to Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. From Laoag City, you may ride a Bus bound to Manila. Ask the driver to drop you off at Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. From there, you may ride a Tricycle or Calesa going to the Shrine of our Lady of Charity (Bantay Church). Travel Time from Laoag City to Vigan City is approximately 2 hours.
