Prayer for the Broken-hearted

LORD JESUS CHRIST, You are described in the scripture as the God who is near to the brokenhearted. I humbly implore Your power to console and bring healing to my brokenness and torment. I believe that nothing is impossible for you to do, and so I beg You, my dear LORD, to convert my sufferings into a joyful experience of Your heavenly love. 

Allow my spirit to focus on You alone, so that I may see and understand the blessing behind my broken heart. I entrust everything to You, my LORD JESUS; because You are my only hope. Heal me. Save me. Amen.

Prayer for the Persecuted Christians and their Persecutors

LORD JESUS CHRIST, we humbly come to You today to pray for our brothers and sisters who are being persecuted because of their faith in You. We ask for Your Divine intervention, O Lord, and grant our persecuted brethren the strength to bear all the pains and sufferings faithfully for the sake of Your Gospel and for the advancement of Your Kingdom here on Earth.  We pray that by their sacrifices many souls will obtain Your promise of salvation.  

Lord, we also lift up to You the hearts and souls of the persecutors. May they find You in their and hearts and, just like Saint Paul, be converted to the faith.  In Your Holy Name, Amen. 

“Bukod kang pinagpala sa babaeng lahat!” -Lucas 1:42

 

Ang natatanging pagtingin at pagkilala ng mga Katoliko sa Mahal na Birheng Maria ay hindi maituturing na idolatriya sapagka't, una, malinaw sa mga Katoliko na hindi Diyos si Maria. Ang pagpaparangal na ibinibigay sa kanya ay naka-ugat sa katotohanan na "siya ay punong-puno ng grasya (Lucas 1:28)," "bukod siyang pinagpala sa lahat ng mga babae (Lucas 1:42),"  at "ang Panginoong Diyos ay sumasakanya (Lucas 1:28)." 

Ang mga katotohanang ito ay malinaw na inihayag ng Diyos sa tao. Kung kaya nga noon pa man ay makikita na natin ang pagpaparangal at pagtangkilik na ito kay Maria bilang isang natatanging hinirang ng Diyos. Sa mga salita ni Elizabeth noong dalawin siya ni Maria ay mababasa natin ito: 

"Sino ako upang dalawin ng Ina ng aking Panginoon?" (Lucas 1:43)  o sa salitang Ingles, "But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?"

Sa madaling sabi, ang makasama pala si Maria ay isang napaka-laking karangalan. Pagpapakita ito kung paano pinagpipitagan si Maria simula pa noon.  Maaaring sabihin ng ilan, "opinyon lang yan ni Elizabeth."  Hindi po. Kung babalikan po natin ang naunang talata (Lucas 1:41), mababasa natin na si Elizabeth ay napuspos ng Espiritu Santo. Nangangahulugan ito na ang mga salitang lumabas sa kanyang bibig ay mga rebelasyong mula mismo sa Diyos. Ito po ay tugma noong ihayag ng Banal na Kasulatan na si Maria ay tatawaging mapalad o "blessed" sa lahat ng salin-lahi (Lucas 1:48). Hindi na ito kataka-taka sapagkat sinsabi mismo ng Panginoong Hesus na kung sinuman ang naglilingkod sa Kanya ay pararangalan ng Ama (Juan 12:26) at kabilang na nga dito si Maria na naging tapat na alipin ng Diyos, Ina ng Tagapagligtas. Kung ang Diyos mismo ay kayang magbigay parangal sa Kanyang mga tapat na nilikha, sino tayo para hindi tumulad sa Diyos?  Ang pagpaparangal kay Maria ay pagpaparangal sa Diyos na Siyang pinagmumulan ng lahat ng karangalan. 

Powerful Prayer to the Mother of Perpetual Help

Behold at thy feet, 0 Mother of Perpetual Help, a wretched sinner who has recourse to thee and confides in thee. 0 Mother of mercy, have pity on me. I hear thee called by all the refuge and the hope of sinners: be then, my refuge and my hope. Assist me, for the love of Jesus Christ; stretch forth thy hand to a miserable fallen creature who recommends himself to thee, and who devotes himself to thy service for ever. I bless and thank Almighty God, who in His mercy has given me this confidence in thee, which I hold to be a pledge of my eternal salvation.

 It is true that in the past I have miserably fallen into sin, because I had not recourse to thee. I know that, with thy help, I shall conquer. I know. too, that thou wilt assist me, if I recommend myself to thee; but I fear that, in time of danger, I may neglect to call on thee, and thus lose my soul. The grace, then, I ask of thee, and this I beg, with all the fervor of my soul, that in all the attacks of hell I may ever have recourse to thee. O Mary, help me. 0 Mother of Perpetual Help, never suffer me to lose my God.

Lord, please make my SEPTEMBER a Month of Healing and Grace.

 Lord, please bless us this new month of September. We invoke Your powerful Name, Lord Jesus, to deliver us from all harm, from all sickness and from all evil.

 Please heal our country and the whole world. You alone, O Lord, is our refuge and our strength. Save us, O Savior of the world!
