Jesus is giving you true love, but you always prefer the love of the world. He is offering you the kind of peace no one can take away, but you always favor the call of the flesh. Jesus respects your choices, even though your choices doesn't include Him. He looks after you, even though you always run away from Him. Jesus loves you, and He cares for you even though you doesn't care about Him.
You see, no matter how sinful you are, you are still precious in the sight of God. You remain to be His beloved, redeemed by His Body and Blood on the cross. If His dying on the cross doesn't convince you how much He cares for you, I don't know what else will convince you.
