Few months ago, I went to Rodriguez (formerly Montalban) in the province of
Rizal to witness my friend's civil wedding ceremony which was held in
the municipality's gymnasium. Right across the gymnasium was the
historical and beautiful Church of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary.
According
to the official website of the Rizal Province, the Church was "founded
in 1871 by a certain Fr. Eustaquio, a native of Pasig." Thus, making it
one of the oldest Catholic Churches in the whole Province of Rizal.
The Church, by the way, is under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Antipolo.
Below are some photos of the Church during my quick visit:
How to go here using public transportation:
- If you are coming from RECTO Area:
- You may ride the LRT-2 and alight off at KATIPUNAN STATION. From there, ride a Jeepney or FX going to Rodriguez (Montalban). Ask the driver to drop you off at the Church.
- You may take a Jeepney going to Cubao. From Cubao, ride another Jeepney or FX going to Rodriguez (Montalban). Ask the driver to drop you off at the Church.
- If you are coming from NORTH EDSA or TAFT AVENUE:
- You may ride the MRT and alight off at CUBAO STATION. From there, go to Aurora Boulevard and ride a Jeepney going to Rodriguez (Montalban). Ask the driver to drop you off at Church.
