NO ONE IS POOR TO GIVE: Five Ways to be Charitable without spending a single centavo.

NO ONE IS POOR TO GIVE: Five Ways to be Charitable without spending a single centavo.

From my childhood until now, I am a firm believer that doing charitable works are not only for the rich and wealthy who can give large sums of money to the needy. Being charitable is a universal calling, whether you are poor or rich.  I take inspiration to the poor widow in the gospels which pleases the Lord by giving out ALL of what she have. We must understand, my dear brethren, that our LORD does not look at the quantity of the gifts, but the sincere hearts of the giver.

Here are few ways which we can do to exercise charity without spending a single centavo:

1. PRAY FOR THE NEEDS OF OTHER PEOPLE - Being charitable is being selfless. If we remember for a moment the needs of other people more than ours, then we became sefless. Practice this habit every single day, so you will develop an attitude of selfless love.

2. SPEAK THE TRUTH ALWAYS AND CHOOSE THE PROPER WORDS TO CONVEY IT - As the saying goes, "Caritas in Veritate" or Charity in Truth.  One of the aims of charity is to liberate.  Our Lord Jesus  Christ made it clear that the "truth can set us free." And so, we must develop the habit of being truthful to the people around us and to ourselves as well, and learn to face and accept the truth even how inconvenient it is; because, again, only the "TRUTH can set us free."

3. FORGIVE THE PEOPLE WHO WRONGED YOU IN SO MANY WAYS - This maybe the hardest to do, but the LORD Jesus Christ is so much pleased with people with forgiving hearts. The people who wronged you brought you pain, and so does the unforgiveness that you don't want to let go in your heart. Always forgive people and be at peace in the fact that God is just. By allowing God to intervene, you became charitable because  GOD will deal accordingly to the people who caused you pain and bring them to conversion.

4. TAKE TIME TO LISTEN AND COMFORT THE BROKEN - Listening to other people and giving them some encouragement are also acts of Christian Charity.  The Bible tells us (Hebrews 3:13) to "encourage ourselves daily while it is still “today,” so that none of us may grow hardened by the deceit of sin."

5. DEVELOP A DEEPER RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS -  We become more charitable if we develop a deeper relationship with JESUS, the LOVE Incarnate, the CHARITY Himself.
